I am interested in how human beings respond to and attempt to cope with the eventuality of death, whether symbolic or physical. Romantic, ephemeral imagery depicting loss, beauty, and decay form the visual language of my artistic production.
I use a range of materials and media, in the tradition of Kiki Smith and Ann Hamilton, to construct meditations on issues of memory, identity, and the formation of narratives, using the realms of myth, spirituality, and archetypes. My photographs, drawings, sculptures and installations are influenced by Victorian literature, Emily Dickinson,
e. e. cummings, and Marguerite Duras. Through the use of delicate materials, ghostly images, and ruins, I explore the fragility and mortality of the body and psyche.
